Morocco at the Game Créalab Francophone 2026 Residency

Morocco at the Game Créalab

From October 9 to 22, 2026, Morocco is taking part in the new edition of Game Créalab Francophone, a residency dedicated to video game design and writing, held in Chartres, France.

This participation marks a new step in opening Morocco’s gaming industry ecosystem to international professional and creative networks. It also reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to fostering the emergence of talents capable of bringing Moroccan video game projects to the international stage.

For the 2026 edition, Zakarya Chioua and Hidaya Saf have been selected to represent Morocco with their project “Sky Drift,” a 3D roguelite platformer featuring a small rocket equipped with two independent thrusters. Players are invited to navigate challenging levels, collect gems, manage their fuel and progressively upgrade their rocket, while uncovering the secret threatening the balance of the world.

Game Créalab Francophone 2026 brings together five creative teams from five French-speaking countries and territories: France, Luxembourg, Morocco, Switzerland and Wallonia. Each team is composed of creators working notably in game design and art direction.

Over 14 days, the teams will benefit from intensive support provided by coaches and industry professionals. The residency will enable them to strengthen their concepts, work on gameplay, art direction and the various aspects of their projects, while benefiting from advice from publishers and industry experts.

The program also includes masterclasses tailored to the needs of the selected projects, covering topics such as gameplay, business models, distribution, legal aspects and funding mechanisms for video game projects.

The residency will notably conclude with a professional day at Paris Game Biz, where the selected teams will have the opportunity to present their projects to gaming industry professionals.
